Week 13 – Learn something new everyday!

This week has been a good one! I have accomplished something which I have been meaning to do in absolutely ages as I finally got round to putting on some group sessions for more girls at the gym. I held 4 sessions and all of them went so well! The feedback which I have had has been so positive that it has made me kick myself for not sorting them out sooner! I am now looking at my diary and calendar and trying to figure out when I can next put some on!

My parents have been away for the week which has meant being home alone, not something which I am usually bothered about but I will be glad to have them home for some company! My vegetable seedlings have survived which I am impressed with!

Training has been REALLY good this week. After coming off a much needed deload week a couple of weeks ago, I played about with my programming a bit and think I have put something together which a) is going to see me progress and b) is enjoyable. Don’t underestimate how important it is to actually enjoy your sessions as if you don’t you are much less like to adhere and stick to them.

Eating wise, I have had a couple of overindulgent moments (i.e. too much chocolate) which has set me back. We all do it! I am not perfect! Without trying to find excuses, although I know I will be going on holiday this summer, the fact I don’t have anything booked has meant I don’t have a clear goal in mind. I need to refocus this week and have good few days as I am going to Dublin next weekend for a couple of nights!

Right, on to the main bit…. what have I learnt in week 13 of this year?

9th: In Ireland you cannot buy alcohol from bars, restaurants or supermarkets on Good Friday.

10th: The Chinese are generally credited for creating the first ice creams, possibly as early as 3000 BC. Marco Polo is popularly cited for introducing these tasty concoctions to Italy.

11th: Steve Jobs was effectively fired from Apple in 1985 for believing too much in the development of the macintosh computer. In the time away from Apple he created the company Pixar, before returning to Apple as CEO in 1996. Link.

12th: Gibraltar has been held by the UK since 1713.

13th: On average, each person in Britain eats approximately 9.5 kg of chocolate per year.

14th: Cling Film is called Saran Wrap in the USA.

15th: 30 companies now have permits to test out self driving cars. Is this the future?!

Week 13 may be unlucky for some, but it was a pretty good week for me!

Love Abi xxxx
